Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.
Officers state they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then discovered many other marked cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police report early analysis indicate the liquid was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; officials are presently not aware of any harm in connection with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the community for information.
A high-ranking official stated the vandalism made him speechless and needed to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at people of migrant background in five years prior.
